The CID Business Relief Team has re-launched fundraising for the CID Restaurants and other Small Businesses Relief Fund to raise funds to further direct aid to small businesses in the Chinatown ID. Here is a message from the relief team:

As 2020 inched toward a close, we had hoped our work would have shifted toward recovery by now.  We hoped our small businesses – many of whom are immigrant-owned with limited English skills – would be in a better position to rebuild and sustain themselves.

But that is not where we are. The governor announced a four-week statewide set of restrictions in response to the recent rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus in Washington and across the country. As the next few weeks will be key in getting this virus under control, the next few months will be key in supporting the small businesses in the CID once again.

We are re-igniting the relief fund today, with the aim of raising $200,000 – which will bring the fund’s overall total to $1M.  Meeting this goal will help fund at least one more round (maybe two!) of funding aid to small businesses in the CID and help them hold on – just a little bit longer – until we can all safely gather again.

We ask that you consider making a donation again to help us meet this goal. 100% of donations will go to small businesses in the CID.

Starting today, the first 150 donors to donate $150 or more will receive a special CID Biz Relief Neighborhood Box in the mail – just in time for the holidays. The box is filled with some tasty goodies from small businesses in the CID.

Thank you, not only for your donation, but for your trust in the CID Small Business Relief Team to support small businesses in the CID.  We couldn’t do our work without you.

Happy Holidays, and please stay safe.
