SCIDpda’s newest affordable housing development, Beacon Pacific Village, features a diverse collection of murals both inside and outside the building. Designed to foster a sense of belonging and connection, these murals reflect themes of history, family, community, healing, belonging, journey, and inclusion. To become involved in this project, the artists applied to a Request for Qualifications and were then selected by a committee.
Inside the building, residents can enjoy murals in the community lounge areas and elevator landings, with each floor featuring a unique artist’s vision. Our talented indoor muralists include Collin Pfeifer, Jen Vickers, Lauren Iida, Myron Curry, Sarah Robbins, and Tori Shao.
Outside the building, murals can be found around the Beacon Pacific Village campus, including the breezeway between the Jose Marti Child Development Center and the Ron Chew Healthy Aging and Wellness Center. Our talented outdoor muralists include Community Rejuvenation Project, Dave Kim, and Jean Bradbury.
The grand opening of Beacon Pacific Village was celebrated in November, acting also as an unveiling of all the murals, and now the building is leasing so that new residents can enjoy each piece of art on a daily basis. If you are interested in living at Beacon Pacific Village, please visit the building’s website.
