Organization Background: The Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) is a Public Development Authority created by the City of Seattle in 1975 to support and revitalize the Chinatown-International District (CID). SCIDpda works to revitalize and preserve the neighborhood by providing services in three areas: affordable housing and commercial property management, real estate development, and community economic development and community engagement. We have over a 50-year success record of increasing neighborhood sustainability through innovative programs and projects that balance development and preservation.
SCIDpda’s Mission: SCIDpda’s mission is to preserve, promote, and develop the Seattle Chinatown International District as a vibrant neighborhood and cultural hub for Asian American communities.
Scope: Provide architectural/engineering services for a number of potential projects to be developed by the owner at sites located in Seattle’s International District. SCIDpda intends to maintain a roster of qualified architectural consultants who may be selected for specific scopes of work for future development and capital projects. Proposed projects may include: New construction of multi-family housing, that may include commercial/community space; rehabilitation of presently owned or recently acquired buildings; and capital repairs and/or improvements to buildings within the owner’s portfolio. Please note: SCIDpda is chartered to serve within the International Special Review District (ISRD).
