The Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) stands in solidarity with Black communities and all those seeking justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others who have been murdered by police. We support all those in the fight to end police violence, and share in the grief, anger, and frustration felt across the country.

We are committed to supporting the movement against institutionalized anti-Black racism that fuels these injustices and doing the necessary work of creating racial equity, which includes acknowledging our own complicity and positions of privilege within our communities. Because we work to serve the Chinatown International District, a community consisting largely of Asian Pacific Americans, it is important to critically reflect and acknowledge our history, progress, and enduring fight for justice would not be possible without the work and leadership of Black activists.

We encourage you to donate to Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County: blacklivesseattle.org. SCIDpda is committed to the continued support of the Black community and understanding what allyship means to us as an organization. Please join us in standing in solidarity with our neighbors. Black Lives Matter.

Signed,

SCIDpda Board and Staff
